The Lone Oak ISD Communications Department is committed to promoting all aspects of the district, students and staff in a transparent manner and establishing a reliable source of district news. Through open and proactive communications, we hope to build meaningful relationships with parents and the community. The Communications Department is responsible for district-level internal and external communications, assisting teachers and staff members with communication efforts, management of the district website and social media, and public relations.
Methods of Communication:
The LOISD Communications Department regularly updates its website and the district social media pages to reflect current events and district updates. In the event of severe weather or a situation requiring immediate notification of parents, the Communications Department will work with and support campuses to quickly disseminate information. Depending on the nature of the event, we will utilize one or more of these tools:
- Lone Oak Independent School District Website
- Lone Oak ISD Facebook page (also linked directly on our district homepage for those who do not have a Facebook)
- Emails, texts, and phone calls through the use of Blackboard Communications*
- Local news outlets (mainly for severe weather events)
- Extracurricular specific communication
- Lone Oak Athletics App (push notifications and alerts)
*Parents are encouraged to notify their child’s school if phone numbers or email addresses are changed during the year. To ensure your contact information is up to date, you can log into your ParentPortal. Please be aware that a number must be placed in the field for a cell phone number in order to receive campus and district text messages.
