Welcome to Lone Oak Elementary School! I'm the principal of the best PK-5 students and the most innovative staff around. This will be my 7th year as the principal at LOES and my 21st year in education and I love walking into work every single day. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade and am a dyslexia therapist. I am a nationally Certified Academic Language Therapist and a Texas Licensed Dyslexia Therapist. I love the reading puzzle and working to find and fit the pieces together. I'm also an advocate of students, parents, and staff understanding the complexities and the gifts of ADHD.
Last year I began a new journey as a powerlifting coach. I was able to go to Regionals with two girls who place 1st and 3rd and qualified for State. Unfortunately, COVID-19 swept through the nation and curtailed our plans. Additionally, I coach a co ed team of lifters who qualified for USAPL Nationals, including my son, and we are hoping that they will still be allowed to compete in the fall. One of my favorite parts of coaching is getting to share these huge moments with my son.
I have been married to my husband, Jason, for going on 19 years. He is a 1992 graduate of Lone Oak. Together we house our son, Jaden. I don't feel it's appropriate to say we raise him because he was pretty much born grown. This year he is a Senior and is sitting in the top 5% of his class. Jason and I are so proud of him, but you may need to check with us on and off this year as we prepare for him to go to college to pursue Electrical Engineering.
