I truly feel I have the best job at Lone Oak Elementary; which is helping your child to have a great academic and social experience! I look forward to getting to know each student and I will do this by meeting with every child and their class every week in guidance classroom lessons. Some of the many topics we will discuss include how to handle bullying, friendships, responsibility, and drug prevention activities.
I have been in education for twenty seven years and I am starting my eleventh year as a school counselor. The role of the school counselor is to help students with a short-term solution for a student in need or crisis. Basically, what can I do to help your child be successful at school? Many times a student just needs someone to talk to; whether that means talking about their fish that just passed away, listening to them when a grandparent is ill and they are scared, or giving them strategies on how to get along with their friends. When a student comes to me with a concern, I want them to leave my classroom feeling better.
